Thomas Alt 8-Track Flashback
Thomas Alt's humorous memoir, 8-Track Flashback, takes readers on a ride through the musical soundtrack of the 60s. This collection of ten vignettes-one for each year of the 60s-describes a memorable experience in the author's life, and takes him on a journey from his boyhood home in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin to his university days at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Each vignette relates to the most popular song of the day, and the music is used as a tool to evoke the readers' memories of his or her childhood. Alt is a self-described "61-year-old boomer who loves the music of his youth-60s music." Alt currently lives on the North Shore of Chicago with his wife of 33 years. He has a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and spent his professional life in the futures industry as a broker and trader, both in Chicago and New York. He and his wife have two grown children, a daughter, 23, and a son, 21.
